I am going to ask you a question.

Are you continually saying, ‘I can’t believe how fast time is flying’ or ‘when will I ever find the time to market and grow my business, let alone do all the hands-on work’?

Was the answer yes? I know those are statements I make every day.

However, do you also sometimes feel like you will never get where you are going. You are blogging, sharing your content on social media, nurturing your list (you are, aren’t you?) and yet never, NEVER, feeling like you are moving forward substantially in the amount of sales you are making?

Why is it taking so long to find success? Why am I not where I want to be by now?

In that instance time seems to move slowly doesn’t it? You are putting in the work but it seems super slow to see results.

This is where the tricksiness of time comes in. On a daily basis it rushes past us, swooping and swirling around our heads as we reach the end of another long day and wonder just where those 16 hours went. On the other hand, when we want to get somewhere it seems to take so looooong, like when you are a child waiting for Christmas night.

The only way to reconcile those two things is to keep being consistent.

I know that’s what you didn’t want to hear, but in marketing your business it’s the only sure fire way to success. If you don’t share what you have, if you don’t provide people with content that builds trust then your business is not going to stand out from the crowd.

If you have decided you are going to blog, you need to keep those posts going out consistently – whether that’s once a month, a week or a day.

If you have committed to one, two or three social media profiles then post to them regularly – and if you are struggling with that use a scheduler such as Buffer.

If you are building a mailing list, keep in touch with the people on it, otherwise they may just forget why they signed up in the first place.

If you do those three things then something quite remarkable will happen. You will look back across your analytics month on month and see how consistently you kept in touch with your audience. You will watch the figures rise on every post you put out there. Ultimately you will see more sales happening and more great feedback on your products and services.

You will feel more in control of the time which rushes past you every day – because you have set things you need to do every day things which you KNOW will ultimately reap rewards. And that long wait to get where you want to be, that will start to shorten because your consistency will be actually moving you forward to the end result.

I’m sorry that I couldn’t bring you better news. I’m sorry that the only way to bend time is to know what you need to do…….and then do it. However, isn’t that better news than waiting, always waiting, for results and floundering in confusion every day.

All you need to know is this: Build a business you love ==> sell products or services you are proud of and believe in ==> blog ==> spread the word on social media ==> build your list.

Do that for 6 months and then pop back and tell me how far forward you have moved, I bet you may just have tricked time.
